Edit and publish "PlaneBusiness Banter" -- a weekly Web publication for airline employees and investors. Completely redesigned the new subscriber-only section of the site. Compiled and wrote a privacy policy and rules for discussion board users.

First National Bank in Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Web Site Administrator - January 1998 to the Present

Created the original web site for one of Wisconsin's largest independent community banks. Developed a system for bank staff to update interest rates and job postings online. Redesigned and updated the web site in 1999, improving usability and navigability. Designed the user interface for the online banking system in 2000.

Technical Services Director - June 1999 to February 2003

Maintained the computer and information systems for the daily newspaper of the University of Pennsylvania; member of the company's professional staff. Maintained 70 Apple Macintosh and Windows workstations and 10 servers.

Developed a web site for the newspaper's alumni to view and update their personal information and an online system for customers to preview their advertisements.

Developed hardware and software budgets for annual capital purchase process. Initiated testing and transition from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X.

Business Manager - June 1998 to May 1999

Developed the initial business and technical strategy for a college newspaper online advertising network. Charged with the day to day business operations of University Wire beginning in January 1999. Responsible for student employee hiring and payroll, making regular business reports to Student Advantage management, creating proposals for prospective syndication partners, and responding to inquiries from member publications.

Managing Editor and Information Systems Manager - May 1997 to May 1998

Oversaw business operations of the independent student newspaper at Boston University. Duties included management of advertising, public relations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable operations. Supervised a staff of 10 to 15 students. Hired and supervised one full-time and three to five paid student office employees.

Maintained, ordered, purchased, and implemented all technology for the newsroom and business offices. Established criteria, researched and approved purchase of an advertising computer hardware and software solution tailored for college newspapers.

Production Manager - May 1995 to December 1995

Directed the transfer of the newspaper's production from manual "cut and paste" operations to electronic QuarkXPress production. Designed all editorial aspects of the daily newspaper, including three to five news pages and two to three sports pages. Mediated between news and photography editors to balance the need for print and photographs in news layouts. Directed editors and production assistants in recreating designs using QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Freehand.
